Below are a list of common questions.  If you don't see the answers you're looking for here, please contact us.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

  • Complete all patient forms located in the patient portals

  • Have a form of identification and medical insurance card available for the visit

  • Check to see what services are covered by your health insurance plan or if you need a referral from your primary-care provider prior to the day of service

  • Prepare a list of all medications and supplements you are taking to disclose the day of your appointment

  • If you are having a procedure preformed, ask about restrictions or cautions prior to the day of the procedure

  • There will be a $50.00 No Show/Same Day cancelation fee assessed if a patient misses the appointment and/or does not cancel the appointment at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time. That fee must be paid prior to scheduling another appointment with Carter Snell Skin Center. Insurance does not cover these fees.

  • Arrive on time for the appointment in order to avoid being rescheduled

What health insurance plans does CSSC accept?

CSSC accepts most major commercial insurance plans. If you have questions about whether we accept your insurance, please call the office at 313-338-8007 or email us.

Why see a dermatologist?

  • You need a skin, hair, scalp, or nail specialist

  • There is a personal or family history of skin cancer

  • You have never had a skin exam

  • A spot is changing, not healing, or is bleeding

  • You do not like the way a spot looks or feels

  • You have a itch or rash that won’t go away

  • You like to use tanning beds or have in the past

  • You have a history of sunburns

  • You have many moles

  • Your acne will not clear 

  • You want to stay looking youthful & healthy

  • You care about taking care of your body, including its largest organ, the skin

We are a cash free office. All major debit/credit cards, including CareCredit ®, are accepted.
